Why media studies?

We are doing less journalism in the classic sense of news or current reporting. Instead, we focus more on analyzing news and current reporting, publishing the results of these analyzes and supporting our assessments with facts and media science background knowledge.

By examining social, economic and political connections based on scientific analyses, we create a sound basis for our assessments and publications. Our approach leads to media studies research that deals with journalism and its social effects. We point out the harmful effects on society that have become increasingly apparent since the Corona pandemic at the latest, can be independently verified using a variety of sources and require our part to make very serious forecasts and assessments.

We analyze how facts and their interpretation or representation in the media affect public perception and opinion formation. We place a particular focus on the question of the extent to which distorted representations in the media lead to distorted perceptions in the public and how these can lead a society in morally and ethically questionable directions. In the books we go even further, raise questions that are obvious when we know the data and get to the bottom of them comprehensively and in-depth.

This means that we are less involved in traditional journalism and instead focus on analyzing existing news and its impact on society's opinion-forming. By analyzing facts based on media studies, our publications have a scientifically sound basis. Our approach results in a research or perspective that addresses different types of journalism that serve different purposes and interests.

Create awareness

We try to raise awareness of the impact of different forms of journalism on society to a broader public. We pay particular attention to recent developments in the media landscape that have contributed to the emergence of a mixture of contradictory forms of journalism. How this modern hybrid form is becoming increasingly politically and economically important, what effects this has on society and how these developments promote social division are the starting points of our analyses.

Our Books

In our books we go beyond pure scientific analysis of facts, ask central questions that arise from the facts described and also incorporate our own viewpoints on such questions into our considerations. In doing so, we try to develop insights and perspectives that are not only informative, but also encourage a valuable exchange of knowledge, perspectives and arguments as well as discussions that promote both social and scientific discourse.

The aim of our media studies publications is to give our readers a deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind classic marketing, classic news reporting and newer hybrid forms of these opposing approaches. Only knowledge of these developments and upheavals in the media landscape over the last 25 years enables you to effectively protect yourself from media manipulation. Our approach is to critically examine the role of the media in society, as the fourth power, to highlight harmful social developments in order to make us aware of them and to be able to counteract them effectively on this basis.

A new form of journalism

The publication of our results and the facts from which they are derived is therefore also a form of journalism - but a different form of journalism:

It is an approach to journalism that places greater emphasis on journalistic responsibility, objectivity and impartiality and does not spread news without extensively examining and comprehensively examining its historical, economic and political background. It is therefore a form of journalism that is less concerned with uncovering and denouncing new wrongdoings and is more concerned with making wrongdoings that others have already uncovered and denounced accessible to a broader public in some form , which is even more understandable and insightful in that it attempts to highlight the long-term causes and background of such misconduct and developments, to critically examine them and to comprehensively question their effects.

In our opinion, this results in a form of critical reflection that places much greater emphasis on impartiality, objectivity and balance. A journalism that tries to shed light not just one-sidedly but in a variety of ways. A journalism that contributes less to fomenting or even exacerbating conflicts and more to developing an understanding of each other and mutual legitimate interests and can therefore make a major contribution to reducing the potential for political and interpersonal conflict.

Our aim for the quality and relevance of our publications is to revive a perhaps old-fashioned form of critical journalism that seems to have fallen out of fashion in recent decades. Therefore, we may publish less, but a higher density of relevant information that helps to orientate ourselves in the world, enabling the members of a democratic society to make appropriate considerations and make decisions in their own interests.

Quality instead of quantity

Our aim is to produce quality and put questions about quantity aside. We want to enrich and enlighten instead of flooding our readers with well-sounding and meaningless statements and claims. In the high demands we place on our work, we also see the prospect of revitalizing this original form of critical journalism.

That's why our goal is to offer future-oriented, constructive journalism, for which a social need is increasingly developing again and whose creation and preservation we want to help shape and promote with our work.

One for all - all for one

This project also pursues the vision of creating a platform that not only promotes and ensures access to free information, but also gives its supporters and sponsors an opportunity to actively contribute to the growth of this counterpublic movement and to share in the success of our ventures have. Anyone who gets involved can take part in the creation, marketing and distribution of our artistic projects as well as scientific and journalistic publications and can therefore also participate financially in the success of the project in the long term.
