About Us: The Light & Shadow Publishing House

We offer free downloads of media content and promote independent investigative journalism funded by donations. Support us and become part of our community. We work completely independently and report on social issues and facts that conventional media either ignore or only incompletely illuminate. In this way, we criticize the media and conduct media scientific research for the benefit of the informal self-determination of the general public and our free, democratic society. Our aim is to ensure that every member of a democratic community is informally able to make appropriate decisions in their own interests.

We are always looking for freelancers on an independent basis for the distribution of printed books. Our books cover topics such as media, politics, economics, psychology, philosophy, history, religion and art. Together we shape an informed society. If you are interested in working as a freelancer, please feel free to contact us by email at any time! At the moment we are mainly looking for people as long-term sales partners who are considering becoming self-employed in the book wholesale business or are already doing so. As soon as our first books come onto the market, we want to set up distribution right from the start so that anyone interested has the opportunity to cooperate with us as an equal partner and to earn money from the distribution of our books. Our motive, approach and claim:

In a world that constantly strives for knowledge and maximizing profits, we offer free media content on exciting topics from various disciplines, such as history, philosophy, art, social sciences, psychology, media studies, economics, politics, archeology and religious studies. The creation of our platform opens a space for publications, research, factual knowledge, assessments and recommendations that are both factual and informative as well as stimulating.

Here, readers will find interesting books, well-founded assessments, relevant sources and factual and balanced background analyzes that stimulate thought. We invite everyone interested to support the creation of a publishing house that takes into account the informal interests of the general public and maintains its independence by being able to (again) be largely supported by the public.

With the triumph of the Internet at the beginning of the 21st century, many previously independent media companies found themselves in acute financial difficulties. Up to now they had financed their journalistic offerings through advertisements, which until then had reported critically and balancedly. With the spread and increasing use of the Internet to exchange information, the major newspaper publishers and media companies lost their buyers, readers and income. They were therefore forced to look for alternative financing options. This development was very beneficial for economic interest groups and lobby organizations: from then on, they saw themselves as having more leverage and thus in the position to buy into publishers and media companies and, in return, to demand reporting that was in line with their interests.

Countering these socially harmful developments is the approach we are pursuing by creating our information portal. If we manage to collect enough donations in return with our free information offering, we can, along with printing and publishing our books for a fee, set up a real publishing house that not only self-publishes and makes knowledge databases available free of charge, but also has the ability to distribute the content and works of others.

Your commitment and support for our cause helps ensure that the general public has free access to valuable content, facts and information. This seems particularly important to us in a time and information society in which increasingly economically and politically motivated efforts are becoming noticeable, which aim to further limit and restrict the corridor of publicly accepted opinions. Combined with a striving for informal sovereignty of interpretation, which we believe to be recognized by established media and privately motivated political interest groups and representatives, these questionable social developments motivate and inspire us to seek and develop alternatives.

Our approach on this web portal is to create such alternative options, to offer them to our fellow human beings and to invite you to use them constructively together and to further develop and expand them. Based on these insights, we believe we recognize a need for precisely the services and achievements in a free information society that we would like to enable and offer to the general public in the future by setting up such a web portal and its publishing house.

Together we can create a forum that promotes the exchange of ideas, solutions and perspectives for a present and future worth living.

If we know when an edition of an expected work will appear, all interested parties on the waiting list have a right of first refusal and will be informed in advance by email or newsletter about the publication date, price and options for payment, shipping and purchase.
